Ode to the Negative

I remember my mom used to have this book that was titled, "If life is a bowl of cherries, why I am always in the pits?" As a child I just thought it was funny. As an adult I must say I have wondered about this myself. It seems that especially on the blog or in the scrapbook it is all about the positive when really much of life is spent in the negative. So here is my ode to the negative or in other words I am going to vent:
My mom is sick, my dad is sad
My messy house just makes me mad
My kids all whine and moan and fight
I worry, can I raise them right?
The dog just sheds and sheds some more
could there be more dog hair on the floor?
The yard needs plants and rocks and trees
all in and done before the freeze.
My skinny jeans are still too tight
that @#$^* scale just can't be right.
Christmas is coming what a joy
I have to find the perfect toy
and do the cards and bake the food
and clean the house, then be in a good mood.
The state of the nation has got me down
the election, the market all make me frown.
Where are the cherries in all of these pits?
like you've never thrown one of these fits.
I know, I know my life is good
I should be grateful, I should, I should
But sometimes you need to vent
and then you can go back to being content.

Wow. I especially enjoyed your symbolic expletive. However, I must ask: What's to be down about over the election? It's all good there...except for all of these #$%*@ republicans acting like they own the world.

It's so refreshing hearing your words. I'm glad someone else is feeling what I've been feeling! I love the part about the scale, which is why I don't own a scale.

We still miss you!

Loved your ode! You are so funny! Wow, I think most moms are in that same place at least once a day! It's good to know I am not alone!!
